Easter at the Deason's 2011

JJ and Amara...Look what the Easter Bunny brought!

JJ and Amara ready for church.

Where do I begin. I have two brothers, Mervin who is 10 years older than me, lives in Yukon...well they call it Yukon....I call it way west OKC, LOL.
This is my brother Mervin on the left.

David, who is 6 years older than me, lives on North Wood Lake between Piedmont and Yukon, but I think OKC may claim this area too.

This is David holding his youngest grandson Johnathon David "Jack" Deason
Everyone brings food.
The big kids eat in the living room.

The younger ones eat in the kitchen.

Does anyone want to hunt eggs?  I do I do!

The race is on, go hunt in the Family room on the lower level.

Laken is helping Amara.

Dominic and JJ are in the hunt.  Must get 10 eggs to get our $10.00.

Count your eggs to make sure you have 10 and only 10.  LOL

Get your money out of your eggs.

We all have our own families and have had a hard time getting together at Thanksgiving and Christmas for some time now. We met a couple of years at David's house in Arkansas between Thanksgiving and Christmas, but each time we met seem to bring a snow storm to the area. About 4 years ago or so we started meeting at my brother David's house for Easter. He has a large house and most of the time the weather cooperates and allows us to hunt Easter Eggs outside. Two of the last three egg hunts have been inside though. Most of the time we have about 40-50 people for lunch.
I would say we average about 20 children for the Egg hunt. The kids have so much fun because David and Barbara have each of us bring things for the kids East basket...well it's really a bucket. Barb bought buckets several years ago for the kids. They make quite a haul on this, but if that isn't enough....David puts a one dollar coin in each of the eggs and each child is allowed to get 10 eggs. They think this is pretty neat, except when they have more than 10 and have to share. They are so funny!

The big winner is Wes!
Then it is the adults turn. Each adult gets a number. David makes a list of the numbers....he puts an amount by the number. Some have $1.00 by the number, some $5.00, $10.00, $20.00 and then there is one that has $50.00 by it. Needless to say, there are more that have $1.00 than anything else and there is only 1 with $50.00 by it. Brian, David's oldest son, tries to trade numbers with people and usually wins the $50.00 If he doesn't win he is usually one of the last two to find out if he won or not. It is lots of fun and you can imagine how it creates some trades going on. This year Wes was the big winner. Of course everyone gives Brian a hard time when he loses.
Our grandkids get to spend at least one day a year together and they seem to love every minute of it. I am so glad that we have found this time we can still get together and make memories. Thanks to my brother for letting us gather at his house.
