A Love Affair That Warms My Heart

This post is probably not going to be what you think from the title.  Two of my very favorite people in the world have a love affair going on.  I really does warm my heart to see how much my daughter and her son love each other.  This little boy absolutely LOVES his mother.  We call him the kissing bandit.  You know she is a wonderful mother by the way her son loves her.  He likes to come visit us, but her really misses his mom when he is here.  I don't know....there is just a very special bond between mothers and sons... as there is between fathers and daughters.  I know, I know,  there is a different kind of special bond between fathers and sons and mothers  and daughters.  I think it comes down to each individual and how they bond with their children.  It is just great to see children love their parents so much.

This is the way he looks at his mom, pure love.

I know he feels safe here.  Can't you tell.

The kissing bandit.

Like I said, it really is heartwarming to see what a good mother she is and what a sweet boy she is raising.  I hope and pray that they always have this close of a relationship.  I think they will.  Love you both.

Brothers and Sisters....Love or Hate......

My grandkids come to stay with their Bop and GiGi in the summer.  I just love to take pictures of them.  Some days they cooperate better than others.  I usually have to bribe just a little bit.  I just don't want to miss a minute of them growing up.  I want to capture all the milestones.  They change so much from day to day.  This is a brother and a sister that really hate being separated.  They really look out for each other. You might think that they really don't like each other very much when one makes the other one yell, but don't let anyone else cross one or the other.

Amara is a natural model and usually says she wants to take more pictures.  I just love dressing her up in different outfits to take her picture.
She has "IT"

JJ the Big Brother

JJ is the greatest big brother.  He is so kind and gentle with Amara....yes he is typical and likes to pester her too, but most of the time he is very protective of her.

She always tries to steal the show.

These two make taking pictures fun.

They really love each other.

At the end of the day they will stay together.
I wish I could share more of these with you, but I can't post them all.

A KIDS IDEA OF A VACATION!

Let me just say....it is so HOT outside!!!! Last year we took JJ and Dominic to Tatanka Ranch.  The boys loved it but it is very hot there too, so this year we decided to take all three on a vacation.  This is the Kids vacation.  Guess what,  you don't have to go very far or do very much to make kids happy.
Bop and the Grands in the pool.  Dominic is splashing so you can't see him.

We got a hotel room on the South side of OKC, close to Chuck E Cheese.  It was a suite, so we had two large beds and a couch that made a bed and lots of floor space with a 42 inch flat screen.  Cable, of course cable.  I thought all hotels have cable but in reading reviews there is at least one nice hotel in OKC without cable???  We wanted an indoor pool so that we didn't burn while swimming.
Bop, Dominic and Amara swimming

Last Sunday after Amara's birthday party we drove to Braums so the kids could eat and then we were off to the hotel.  They were all about how long it would take to get there.  20 minuets later we were there...thank goodness.  We went to the room and played some card games and watched tv.  They had swam at the water park so we didn't go swimming that night.  They all wanted to sleep on the sofa bed.  Kids!

Monday morning we were up and at breakfast down stairs... everyone got to choose what they wanted.  They like that.   They also are all about the elevator.  We had to wait till 10:00 for the pool to open, but it finally did.  They swam for a couple of hours and then we were off for lunch.
Waiting on their pizza and then they can go play.

Amara's driving may have scared him. LOL
JJ and Dominic playing games
Amara riding in Clifford the Big Red Dog.  She had so much fun.  They gave her a sticker that said it was her 3rd birthday and she even got some free tokens.
Now to make the decision on what to spend our tickets on.  We never win enough tickets!

Chuck E Cheese is a great place to be when it is hot outside.  They had great fun there too.  Amara was all about riding the cars and the boys were all about the games.  Amanda got to come down and play with us because there was a water main break and also the air was off in her work place.  After play at Chuck E Cheese we were back to rest in the room and get ready to go to the movie... Winnie The Pooh.

From the movie we were off to Chick Filet to play and eat.  Indoor play areas help to run off some energy.  Then it was back to the hotel to swim some more and then to bed.
One playing DSI, one playing on the I Pad and the other watching TV.  At least they aren't fighting.

The next morning we were up, ate breakfast and checked out.  We decided to take them to Pops at Arcadia.  JJ wanted to know how many bottles of pop are on the glass shelves.  We estimated that there are 7044 bottles.  The kids liked it and had a good time.  We drove by the famous round barn just east of Pops, I guess I was more impressed than the kids.
Bright sun, it's hot and GiGi made us take this picture.
We are all busy while we wait on our food.
Waiting patiently outside with their candy for Bop to come out.  See the pop on the glass shelves inside, there are 320 shelves with 22 bottles of pop on each shelf....thus 7044 bottles.  I'm just glad I don't have to dust them. LOL
The famous Round Barn of Arcadia.  There is even a gift shop inside.  Mike wouldn't stop for it though.

We made it back to Stillwater in time for all the Grands to take a nap and when Krista came home we kissed Dominic goodbye and took off with the other two for Darko.  They had a great time and got to spend some quality time together...all three grands....Now Bop and Gi Gi really need a Real Vacation!

Amara aka Tinker Bell turns 3

Mommy andAmara

Our beautiful little Amara turned 3 on July 17, 2011.  She loves Tinker Bell right now so she wanted a Tinker Bell birthday party, right down to the dress.  I'll let you look at the pictures as they tell the story of her special day.  You just have to love this little girl.  She has a smile that will melt your heart.
