The 17 Day Diet

Well, I haven't really wanted to talk very much about it.  When you start something new, you never know if it is going to work for you, but I have decided to share what Mike and I are doing now.  January 7, 2011 Mike and I started another diet.  Yes, another diet.  I feel like I have tried just about everything there is to try out there.  Some have worked, some have not.  After watching Dr. Phil talk about the 17 day diet I decided to order the book.  You have to order from the web site.  It is not on sale at bookstores.

We have gone through the first and second set of 17 days now.  Mike has lost over 30 pounds and I have lost over 20 pounds.  The first 17 days is pretty hard to stay on, it is mainly meat, veggies, fruits and not much else.  The second 17 days you get to add a little more foods and then the 3rd 17 days you get to add whole grain pastas and breads.  When we finish this 17 days we have to decide whether to stay on 3, go back to 1 or do the combo of 1 & 2...We will make that decision later.

It feels good to lose weight.  It really feels good to be able to eat and still lose weight.  I have learned how to make low fat BBQ sauce, baked chicken Parmesan, and some other other things like turkey burgers.  I feel like this works because you change things up and you are not hungry and there are many different types of foods.  I have a new turkey chillie too.

We have a long way to go, but lets hope when January 7, 2012 comes around you will see much less of both of us.I think we have a good start, but we just have to keep our eye on the prize.  The prize being healthier and much smaller too boot.  We are hoping to be half way to our goal when we go to NYC in August.  I think we can do it.  It helps me being home and cooking for us, but we have figured out what we can and can't eat when we eat out.

And that's All I have to say about that!  For now anyway...LOL  Maybe I'll post pictures one of these days...I said Maybee.
